The Eagles gave national fame to this Northern Arizona city with the line, “Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona” in their famous song: “Take it Easy” Yet, even before that, this city was rich is history from its founding days along Route 66 to the modern day Interstate 40. With a larger population of 9,655, Winslow offers jobs to residents as well as educational opportunities through their campus of Northland Pioneer College. With a close proximity of 60 miles to Flagstaff, residents of Winslow can live in a smaller community and be to the city in a short hour’s drive. The city is home to the historic La Posada Hotel, Restaurant and Bar. This attraction can take one as if in time travel to earlier days when Winslow was a hub along Route 66. Winslow is also a short drive away from neighboring Clear Creek which offers swimming, picnicking, and hiking.
